Psalm 1
Choosing the Righteous Path

1 Blessed is the one who shuns the counsel of the wicked,

Who does not walk with wrongdoers,

Or stand in the way of those who mock the Divine.

2 Such a person delights in the Lord's teachings,

And meditates on them, both day and night.

3 They are like a sturdy tree planted by streams of water,

Yielding its fruit in due season,

Whose leaves do not wither,

And in all they do, they prosper.

4 Yet the wicked are not so;

They are like chaff that the wind scatters.

5 They will not withstand judgment,

Nor stand among the righteous in the assembly of the Divine.

6 For the Lord watches over the path of the righteous,

But the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
